Feeding Our Childlike Curiosity
What intrigues you? What makes you want to learn more?

Peace and Abundance, Ankhora family!
Welcome to Ankhora's biweekly nurturing of the sacred trinity - mind, body, and soul. In each newsletter we intend to bring you a dose of inspiration, wisdom, and practices to enhance your well-being within those three major layers of life.
One rule of thumb is we should always be open to learning new things, whether it be internal and about yourself, or external and expanding your awareness of the world you live in.
As I’ve embarked on my own personal health and wellness journey, I have learned a ton about myself (and therefore others - I n I) and continue to learn new things all the time. “When the student is ready, the teacher will appear - when the teacher is ready, the students will appear.” A very real dynamic is this game of life.
Children are typically the most curious beings you will ever find. They are constantly seeking answers to the unknown about themselves and seemingly all things in their reality around them. Above all, children do this from a place of innocence and lack of judgement, highlighting their pure essence. As adults, a highly rewarding practice is when we tap into our inner-child.
Our inner-child allows us to connect with our passions, purpose, and ultimately our higher-selves. It sparks a flame of inspiration and joy that many adults have lost due to society and the obstacles we face growing up that take us out of that innocence.
My own childlike curiosity keeps me in a learning mode, which for me, I absolutely love. Honestly, school wasn’t fun because it was boring and I wasn’t learning many things that excited me. Now, totally different ballgame. I learn necessities that we should have been taught and about things that bring me joy.
From a necessities standpoint, I recently confirmed what I already intuitively knew after having a blood test done to identify any nutrient deficiencies I may have. Now the mission is to take what I’ve gathered from the results and get to work on rectifying the situation. Instead of letting doctors throw darts at a dart board and treat me like their science project, now I am my own science project. And if you know me, you know I like to get A’s, so best believe I’m putting my best foot forward.

Mindful Alignment:
Mental Gem: You have the power to rewrite the story you tell yourself. What story are you telling yourself? See and feel how you want it to be. Live in the feeling of the end (completion) as Neville Goddard would put it.
Mindful Moment: 5-4-3-2-1 Grounding Exercise - Use your senses to name five things you can see, four you can feel, three you can hear, two you can smell, and one you can taste. This practice helps anchor you in the present moment.

Physical Alignment:
Herbal Spotlight: Wormwood (also known as Artemisia), is a potent herb with a rich history in traditional medicine. Known for its antimicrobial, anti-fungal, and anti-inflammatory properties, it supports the body in various ways. Internally, wormwood is often used to aid digestion, helping alleviate bloating, indigestion, and loss of appetite. It’s also known for its cleansing effects, particularly in promoting liver health and assisting in detoxification by removing parasites and harmful bacteria from the body. Additionally, wormwood has been used in herbal remedies for balancing the menstrual cycle and relieving symptoms associated with menstruation.
Top Tier Nourishment:
Tuning into the Body: It feels like bulking season and I’m a bear preparing for hibernation. Between eating a bit more hearty-type foods and working out, it’s like my body is getting ready and storing energy for these colder months. Pot pie, veggies, fruits, and soups have been very satisfying to my pallet since our last update. Make sure you are grounding and staying in tune with nature for your body to naturally harmonize with the changes that are happening in the external environment as they are in your internal environment.

Soulful Alignment:
Soulful Insights: Practice cultivating joy. Joy is not something to chase, but something to create in the present. Find joy in the simple moments of your day.
Affirming the Best: I am worthy of the love, abundance, and joy that flows into my life effortlessly.

Community Corner:
This time around I wanted to highlight two of the best vegan/vegetarian/plant-based restaurants that I have had the privilege of experiencing. First up, ‘Taste of Soul: Plant Based & Vegan Cuisine’ in Charlotte, NC. I’ll tell you this… I had the ‘crab cake’ over cajun sauce/rice with green beans and baked beans; it was so good I went back the next day and had to run that whole meal back. This spot is a must-have regardless of food preference, good food is good food!
Next up is Shawnee’s Goodies Vegan Bakery & Cafe in Lilburn, GA. When I tell you fire… FIRE!!! I love different mushrooms at this stage of life and they have some of the best fried oyster mushrooms I’ve ever had. I got their fried jackfruit fingers with fries, along with a hefty salad that included a generous amount of mushrooms on top. All of it blew any and all expectations I had out of the water. That food was so good… WOW! Easily top 5 in the ATL area for me now. Could be top 2… I got a few spots though! They also have a ton of desserts (everything looked amazing, but I only tried the oatmeal raisin cookie) if you have a sweet tooth as well.
If you have a business in mind that you would like to see highlighted, please email me at [email protected] and include ‘Community Corner’ in the subject line along with details and contact information about the business in the body of the email.
We also want to hear about your journey - tell us about your struggles, successes, goals, etc. Email us at the address above or DM us on Instagram @3layersofwellness to connect!
