Spring's Peaks & Pauses

Harmonizing the Creative Surge

Peace and Abundance, Ankhora family!

Welcome to Ankhora's biweekly nurturing of the sacred trinity - mind, body, and soul. In each newsletter we intend to bring you a dose of inspiration, wisdom, and practices to enhance your well-being within those three major layers of life.

These past two weeks have felt like standing in a sun-drenched field after a long winter—ideas sprouting everywhere, clarity humming in every breeze. Many of you have written to say you’re experiencing a similar spark: projects moving forward at lightning speed, purpose crystallizing with sudden brilliance, inspiration arriving faster than you can write it down. Celebrate this. The universe rarely sends such concentrated waves of insight without good reason. They arrive when the soil of our lives is fertile enough to anchor them and when our spirits are ready to act.

Yet blooming fields need rain as much as sunlight, and my own body reminded me of this truth. In the midst of my creative high, I was ambushed by stubborn sinus congestion—a literal pressure in the head even as my mind felt open and boundless. Perhaps you, too, have met an unexpected low: a fatigue that drapes itself over your afternoon, a nagging cold, an old emotional trigger resurfacing just when everything seems perfect. If so, take heart. These dips are not signs that you’ve lost momentum; they are invitations to integrate the very light you’ve welcomed in.

Think of creativity as a powerful electrical current. When it courses through our systems, it illuminates hidden corners, powers new projects, and charges our sense of mission—but it can also overload delicate circuits if we don’t ground it. Physical symptoms often emerge as grounding mechanisms. Sinus pressure, for instance, can symbolize the body’s attempt to slow down overactive mental energy and flush out whatever no longer serves the higher frequency you’re now carrying.

So how do we honor both the peak and the pause? First, cultivate rhythmic breath. Inhale deeply through the nose for a count of four, hold for four, exhale for six, and pause for two. This pattern mirrors life’s ebb and flow: expansion, suspension, release, stillness. Practicing it for five minutes twice a day stabilizes the nervous system and frees congested passages—physical and energetic alike.

Second, create containers for your creative fire. Keep a “surge journal” handy so flashes of insight have a place to land without demanding immediate action. This simple practice prevents overwhelm and allows you to revisit ideas when the body is rested. Remember: a seed planted at the right depth in fertile soil will sprout even if you walk away for a while.

Third, lean into seasonal nourishment. We are in mid-spring here in the Northern Hemisphere—a time when nature serves up cleansing greens and gentle bitter herbs. Incorporate dandelion leaves, nettle broth, or a squeeze of lemon in warm water to help clear sinus pathways and detox excess heat created by intense mental work. Hydrate generously; water is the conduit that turns inspiration into flow rather than stagnation.

Finally, honor the wisdom of pause without labeling it a setback. When congestion, fatigue, or emotional turbulence arises, treat it as you would a trusted elder offering counsel. Ask: What truth are you highlighting? Which creative thread needs resting before weaving? Where might I be pushing beyond sustainable limits? Listen, adjust, and trust that your greatest breakthroughs often emerge in the quiet space between exhales.

This balanced approach reflects the growing partnership between Universoul Publishing and 3 Layers of Wellness, with Ankhora as the living bridge. Creativity thrives when it stands on the solid ground of holistic well-being, and healing deepens when it is expressed through art, story, and purposeful work. Together, we embody a new paradigm where peaks of inspiration and pauses of integration are celebrated as equally sacred steps on the same path.

If you find yourself soaring this week, ride the current—but keep one hand on the earth. If you’re moving slowly, honor that pace and know you’re still being carried forward. May you greet each moment—bright or dim—with curiosity, compassion, and the unwavering faith that your journey is unfolding in divine timing.

Mindful Alignment:
  • Mental Gem: Your inner peace is the bedrock upon which you build every moment of your life.

  • Mindful Moment: Sensory Reset: Close your eyes for 10 seconds and then slowly open them, taking note of what you see, hear, and feel in that moment. Let your senses guide you back to the present.

Physical Alignment:
  • Herbal Spotlight: Schisandra Berry, often called “five-flavor berry,” is a revered adaptogen in Traditional Chinese Medicine known for supporting energy, mental clarity, and resilience to stress. Its unique profile of antioxidants and lignans can also aid liver function, helping the body detoxify more efficiently. Many people turn to schisandra for a balanced boost—improving stamina and focus while promoting a calm yet energized state. Whether enjoyed as a tea, tincture, or supplement, it’s a versatile herb that nurtures both mind and body.

  • Top Tier Nourishment:

  • Tuning into the Body: I am back on the 1 big meal per day again, with the first half of the day primarily intermittent fasting. It seems like being in the sun and staying hydrated has been enough to stay satisfied for the most part, with hunger arising in the evenings. Of course workout season is in full effect, but even with that being the case, my body has not wanted a ton of food. Always listen to your body when it comes to food intake, whether it be specific foods or the amount of which consuming.

Soulful Alignment:
  • Soulful Insights: You are an unfolding story; let each chapter reflect your growing wisdom and grace.

  • Affirming the Best: Why do I discover joy and gratitude in even the smallest moments?
