The Sacred Reset

Realigning Before the Next Chapter

Peace and Abundance, Ankhora family!

Welcome to Ankhora's biweekly nurturing of the sacred trinity - mind, body, and soul. In each newsletter we intend to bring you a dose of inspiration, wisdom, and practices to enhance your well-being within those three major layers of life.

Over the past month, we've spent a lot of time talking about transition. We began with Sacred Clearing, where we examined what had completed its purpose and what we were ready to release. Then, as we entered harvest season, we shifted our attention toward recognizing what those experiences had produced within us and what the person we've become is now capable of creating. This week feels like the natural continuation of that process.

10/10 is approaching, a date often recognized within numerology and spiritual communities as a symbolic portal associated with completion, renewal, and forward movement. Numerologically, 10 is especially interesting because it contains both an ending and a beginning. Nine completes the single-digit sequence, while 10 returns us to 1 accompanied by 0. Within numerological traditions, 1 is commonly associated with initiation and individuality, while 0 is often interpreted as potential, wholeness or the space from which something new can emerge.

Whether or not you personally subscribe to the idea of energetic portals, the symbolism gives us a useful opportunity for reflection. Sometimes life asks us to begin again; not from nothing, but from experience.

There is a major difference between starting over and starting again. Starting over can sound as though everything that came before was wasted, while starting again recognizes that we are returning to the beginning with information we didn't possess the first time. You aren't the same person who began the previous cycle.

You know more now, you've experienced more, you've discovered what works and what doesn't. You've seen certain people, situations, and perhaps even yourself more clearly. Some things you once believed have been challenged, while others have been strengthened through experience.

That means your next beginning doesn't have to resemble your previous one. Sometimes the most powerful reset isn't changing everything around you. It's approaching familiar circumstances with a different internal operating system.

Interestingly, this year's 10/10 portal arrives during a particularly reflective period astrologically. Venus recently began its retrograde through Scorpio, while Saturn, Uranus, Neptune and Pluto are also retrograde. Mercury remains direct for now, although it will begin its own retrograde later this month. Astrology traditionally interprets retrograde periods as opportunities to revisit, reconsider, and reassess the areas symbolically associated with those planets.

That interpretation is spiritual and astrological rather than scientific, but the underlying practice of reflection remains valuable regardless of what you believe about planetary influence. Sometimes we need periods when the question isn't "What can I add?", but "What needs to be reconsidered?" We can ask ourselves the following questions:

  • Are our relationships still reflecting our values?

  • Does the way I’m spending my time match what I claim is important?

  • Am I pursuing something because I genuinely desire it or because an older version of me decided I should?

  • Are my financial habits supporting the life I’m trying to create?

  • Are the standards I've established actually being honored in my daily choices?

Those questions can be uncomfortable because realignment requires accountability and admitting that something we chose consciously no longer fits consciously. And that's okay… Changing your mind after receiving new information isn't inconsistency. Sometimes it's evidence that you're paying attention.

This is especially relevant with Venus retrograde because, within astrology, Venus isn't limited to romance. It is also associated with values, pleasure, beauty, relationships, resources, and the things we consider worthy of our energy. Whether you view the transit literally or symbolically, those are worthwhile areas to examine.

What do you value now?

Not five years ago. Not when you were trying to impress someone. Not when you were in survival mode. And definitely not when you were following someone else's definition of success.

Right now.

Your answer may have changed over time. Maybe peace has become more valuable than recognition. Maybe time has become more valuable than money. Maybe freedom has become more important than appearances. Maybe meaningful relationships matter more than maintaining a large circle. Maybe your definition of abundance has expanded beyond what sits in a bank account.

Growth often changes what we value. When our values change, our lives eventually have to reorganize around them. This is where the idea of a sacred reset becomes useful.

A reset doesn't require burning everything down. It doesn't necessarily mean quitting your job, ending every relationship, moving across the country, or dramatically reinventing yourself because the calendar changed. Sometimes a reset is subtle.

It is deciding that you're no longer available for a particular dynamic. It could be changing your morning routine, reorganizing your finances, or returning to a practice you abandoned. It could also be forgiving yourself for a decision you made with the awareness you had at the time. Recommitting to something that still matters after realizing you haven't been giving it the attention it deserves could also be part of your recognition.

A reset can even mean choosing the same path again, but choosing it consciously this time. That distinction and being intentional matters. We spend so much time searching for new things that we can overlook the power of renewed intention.

A relationship doesn't always need to end; sometimes the way two people relate needs to change. A goal doesn't always need to be abandoned; sometimes the strategy needs to evolve. A business doesn't always need an entirely new direction; sometimes it needs to return to its original purpose with greater clarity.

Not everything old is outdated. Discernment means knowing what deserves release and what deserves recommitment.

October 10 also brings a New Moon in Libra, adding another symbolic layer to the moment. New moons traditionally represent the beginning of a lunar cycle, while Libra is astrologically associated with balance, relationships, reciprocity, harmony and fairness. Again, these meanings belong to astrological tradition rather than astronomy, but they complement the larger theme beautifully.

What would it look like to begin your next cycle from a place of greater balance? Perhaps the answer isn't doing more, but maybe it's becoming more selective about what receives your energy. The next chapter might not be asking you to run faster, but it could be asking you to stop running in directions that don't belong to you.

We are approaching the final stretch of 2026. This is usually the point when people begin thinking about everything they haven't accomplished yet and start trying to force an entire year's worth of progress into its final few months. Your mission is to resist that pressure.

You don't need to manufacture urgency simply because the calendar is changing. Instead, use this period to become increasingly clear.

  • What matters now?

  • What deserves your attention?

  • What needs another chance?

  • What needs a different approach?

  • What are you ready to stop carrying?

  • And perhaps most importantly, what are you ready to choose again with greater awareness this time?

The next cycle doesn't require a perfect version of you. It simply benefits from a more conscious one.

Mindful Alignment:
  • Mental Gem: Starting again does not mean returning to where you started. You are returning with experience, awareness, and information that the previous version of you didn't have. The circumstances may look familiar, but you are not approaching them from the same place.

  • Mindful Moment: Conduct a simple 10/10 Reset Audit this week. Choose ten areas of your life: i.e. health, relationships, finances, work, creativity, spirituality, home, habits, personal development, and rest. Rate your current level of alignment in each area from 1 to 10.

Don't judge the numbers or immediately turn them into another productivity project. Simply notice them. Then choose the one area where a small adjustment would create the greatest positive effect across the rest of your life. Ask yourself three questions: What should I continue? What should I change? What should I stop?

Physical Alignment:
  • Herbal Spotlight — Tulsi / Holy Basil

Tulsi, commonly known as Holy Basil, has been used for centuries within Ayurvedic traditions and feels especially appropriate for a period centered around recalibration and navigating change. It is traditionally valued as both a culinary and medicinal herb and holds significant cultural and spiritual importance in India.

Modern research has explored tulsi for several potential effects, including its relationship with stress, metabolic health and general well-being. Some human studies have produced promising findings, but the overall clinical evidence remains limited and more high-quality research is needed before strong conclusions can be made about many of its commonly promoted health benefits.

Tulsi is commonly consumed as an herbal tea and is also available as extracts, powders and capsules. As with any concentrated herbal product, quality, preparation and individual circumstances matter. Tulsi may not be appropriate for everyone, particularly during pregnancy or for people taking certain medications or managing specific health conditions, so speak with an appropriate healthcare professional before using concentrated preparations therapeutically.

  • Top Tier Nourishment:

  • Tuning into the Body: When life feels like it's moving through a period of transition, the temptation is often to live almost entirely inside the mind. We analyze what is happening, what it means, what we should do next and whether we're making the right decision. Eventually, all of that thinking can disconnect us from the body that is experiencing the transition with us.

This week, use your body as part of your reset. Spend at least twenty minutes doing something that brings your awareness out of thought and into physical sensation. Walk without headphones. Stretch slowly. Practice Qigong. Sit outside and breathe deeply. Take a warm bath. Move through a workout without simultaneously consuming content.

Notice what changes when your attention returns to your body. The goal isn't to force yourself into relaxation. It's simply to remember that clarity doesn't always arrive through another thought. Sometimes the mind becomes clearer when the body finally has an opportunity to settle.

Soulful Alignment:
  • Soulful Insights: There are times when evolution requires leaving something behind, but there are also times when evolution means returning to something with a deeper understanding of why it mattered in the first place.

Maybe there is a practice you abandoned when life became busy. Maybe there is a dream you dismissed because it didn't happen according to your original timeline. Maybe there is a part of yourself that became quieter while you were adapting to everyone else's expectations.

Not everything from your past belongs in your future, but neither should everything from your past automatically be discarded. Some things aren't returning because you're moving backward, they're returning because you're finally ready to meet them differently.

  • Affirming the Best: I allow myself to reassess, realign, and begin again without judgment. I release the belief that changing direction means I have failed, and I trust the wisdom I've gained through every previous cycle. I move forward consciously choosing what reflects who I am now, rather than who I once believed I had to be. I welcome the next beginning with clarity, balance, and intention.

Self Operating System™ — Update the System Before You Expand It

We update the technology we use constantly. Our phones receive new operating systems, software gets patched, and applications evolve. Old features are removed, new capabilities are introduced, and vulnerabilities are corrected.

Yet many people attempt to run their entire lives using internal programming they developed years, or even decades ago. That programming might include beliefs about how hard you need to work to deserve success, what relationships are supposed to look like, how much rest you're allowed to have, what other people expect from you, or what kind of person you believe you're supposed to become.

Eventually, the system needs an update.

That is part of what the Self Operating System™ is designed to help uncover. Before adding another goal, strategy or productivity method, we examine the person operating the system.

Who are you now? What do you actually value? How do you naturally make decisions? What environments allow you to function at your best? Which patterns continue producing the same unwanted results? Which parts of your current life were consciously chosen, and which ones were inherited, conditioned or simply never questioned?

A reset becomes much more powerful when you know what you're resetting to. Otherwise, we can clear our schedules, reorganize our lives, create new goals, and still reinstall the exact same internal programming that created the previous experience. Self-knowledge interrupts that cycle.

The purpose isn't to create a perfect operating system. Human beings aren't machines and we're supposed to evolve. The purpose is to understand yourself deeply enough that when your life changes, you know how to recalibrate without abandoning yourself in the process.

Know Thyself. Then build accordingly.
